The ‘Unofficial Pre-Conference Meetup’ is designed to help you get to know each other in a relaxed and friendly environment. Whether you’re attending the conference for the first time or simply looking to expand your network, this meetup is the perfect opportunity to start your journey on the right foot.
The meeting place is the location “Propeller” (Zinzendorfgasse 17, 8010 Graz). Note, that this event is only for people who registered for the unofficial pre-conference meetup. Please note that food and drinks are not covered, so everyone will be paying for their own.
Welcome reception

The Welcome Reception will take place in the Graz Town Hall (Hauptplatz 1, 8010 Graz) in the “Stadtsenatssitzungssaal” (2nd floor) . You can reach the “Stadtsenatssitzungssaal” by entering the Town Hall through the main entrance and by taking the main stairs up to the second floor.

It takes about 12 minutes by tram (line 7) from the stop ‘St. Leonhard/Klinikum Mitte’ to the stop ‘Hauptplatz/Congress’ (google maps link).
Young Statisticians’ Get-Together

The ‘Young Statisticians’ Get-Together’ is a networking possibility for young statisticians. The meeting point is in front of the Town Hall at 19:30 or a few minutes later at the pub Flann O’Brian. It is possible to attend both the Welcome Reception and the Young Statisticians’ Get-Together. Please note that food and drinks are not covered, so everyone will be paying for their own.
Conference Excursion
Wednesday, September 17th, 15:00-18:00
Join us for a refreshing walk through the city’s green spots and enjoy a scenic view over the city!
Meeting time: 14:45
Departure: We will depart in front of the conference venue. We will walk about eight kilometers (150 vertical meters). More information about the walk will be available closer to the event. The walk will end at the restaurant the conference dinner is held at.
Equipment: We recommend to carry a water bottle and wear sturdy shoes!

Conference dinner

The conference dinner is taking place at the reaturant ‘Die Eschenlaube’, Glacisstrasse 63, 8010 Graz (google maps link).
Public transport to and from the restaurant
If you are not taking part in the conference excursion, you can reach the restaurant by tram or bus from various locations in Graz. The closest tram/bus stop is called “Maiffredygasse” (tram lines 1 or 7, bus lines 31 or 39).
To return to your hotel after the conference dinner, you can again use tram or bus lines.
